He is also an author known for books such as Benjamin Franklin: An American Life and Einstein: His Life. Likewise, he was the president and CEO of the Aspen Institute Policy Studies organization in Washington, D.C.
It is known that he worked for the Perella Weinberg Partners firm as an advisory partner of financial services in New York City. He also co-chaired the U.S.-Vietnamese Dialogue on Agent Orange, addressing dioxin contamination.
